GLOSSO-PHARYNGITIS :- (Benga in odiya)
SYMPTOMS :-
When cattle are exposed to cold continuously or infected with communicable diseases, that occur in surrounding areas or if fed with cold & moistly leaves, GLOSSO-PHARYNGITIS happens. The typical symptom includes swelling of the origin of tongue, sore throat, prickly appearances all over the tongue, Anorexia, Vocalisation like a frog’s vocal sound, immobilization of tongue.

PREPARATION OF MEDICINE & IT’S APPLICATION
A soft leaf of Indian fig tree with salt is pastled & the paste is rubbed at the swollen part of the tongue 2-3 times a day.

Handful of cooked rice crushed by hand and then mixed with salt & black pepper seed powder (5-10 g.m) fed to cattle daily.

Soft ficus leaves (15 gms), Bannana inner stem (50 gms) & Toria seeds (15 gms) when mixed & grinded with a pestle & mortar & the product is mixed with warm cow ghee (15-20 gms). Now the resultant product applied to the swollen part of tongue as a paste, 3-4 times a day.

Salt and dried ginger (Sunthi) 15-20 gms each mixed with grass that is fed to cattle at least 2 times a day.
