HERBS & CATTLE TREATMENT
(AS COLLECTED FROM VILLAGE HERDSMEN OF KANDHMAL & GANJAM DISTRICTS OF ODISHA STATE, INDIA)
BLOAT
SYMPTOMS:
In active bloat, sudden gas formation inside rumen & it needs trochar & canula intervention by a surgeon immediately else, the cattle may die out of asphyxia (suffocation).
In passive bloat, the excess gas inside rumen is a continuous problem. Of course, surgery (ruminotomy) is preferred practice to eliminate any kind of metal object sticking or pile up of gunny bags/plastics etc. in the rumen.
But for other minor reasons, the farmer can go for herbal treatments.
