General Fever:

The symptoms include nasal discharge, severe body temperature (as recorded by thermometer through anal route, more than 101.5°F), anuria (stoppage of urination), constipation (stoppage or difficulty in passing stool), body ache symbolized by repeated vocalization, headache represented by pressing of head against an object or vigorously shaking the head, rough hair coat, and anorexia (loss of appetite).

Preparation of Medicine & Its Application

1. Wood apple leaves (25 gm approx), pepper (3–10 seeds), and Egyptian river hemp leaves (25 gm approx) are mixed and ground with warm water (½ litre). The ground liquid is fed through the oral route 2–3 times a day till recovery.

2. Ginger rhizome (20 gm), salt (5 gm), and boiled rice (250 gm) are pounded and then boiled until it becomes a paste. The warm paste (not hot) is fed to cattle 2 times a day till recovery.

3. Soaked lentil dal (100 gm), salt (5 gm), and boiled rice (250 gm) are pounded with cooled hot water (1 litre). The liquid is fed to cattle 2–3 times a day.
